My passion for HR started when I worked in my first leadership role after moving to Canada. After that I augmented my post graduation education in Business Administration by completing a Certificate Program with BCIT in Human Resources Management. I also hold a CPHR (Certified Professional in Human Resources) designation.
Over the last 15 years, I have had the privilege to work in many roles managing recruitment, sourcing and onboarding, labour relations, compensation and benefits, occupational health and safety and more. The industries I enjoyed working in include healthcare, education, non-profit and civic organizations.
My approach to all assignments is by building collaborative relationships and applying my critical and strategic thinking as well as my analytical abilities to solve issues and develop win-win solutions. I am a life-long learner and have been both a mentee and a mentor for over a decade.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and son going for long hikes, playing board games, traveling, exploring the west coast and dabbling in gourmet cooking. I have a love for the ocean and nature having grown up in Kenya experiencing African safaris and scuba diving.
