I have often said that I didn’t choose HR, it chose me. In 2006, I will never forget being handed a little book and told to “Read this”. It was my first collective agreement, and it sparked an interest within me that took me on a long and steep learning curve where I remained curious, and dedicated to learning through trial and error, ongoing education, training, and mentorship.
Fifteen years later I am working as the Director of Human Resources for Community Living Victoria, where I represent the employer in matters of labour relations, in addition to supporting Supervisors, Managers, Directors, and professional colleagues to successfully implement employee feedback & appraisals, and performance management programs.
I further my interest in learning through volunteer work with CPHR BC & Yukon, where I host a labour relations roundtable that allows me to network with other LR professionals, and as the Vice President / HR Lead for Leadership Victoria.
When I am not working, you can find me on a hike with my husband, reading at a remote beach, or watching my daughters playing volleyball.
