I am truly passionate about people and the value HR can bring to an organization and its overall success. I thrive on supporting others to build meaningful relationships and bring their best selves to work. That natural inclination to help support and develop others, combined with my background in the hospitality industry, made HR a natural fit for me.
I hold a BBA in Human Resource Management and Leadership, as well as a Diploma in Business Administration in Tourism from Camosun College, and am currently working towards my CPHR designation.
After more than a decade working in hospitality and supervisory roles, I have been working as an HR professional since 2018. In my most recent position, I had the opportunity to build an HR department from the ground up. Being the sole HR practitioner for an organization with 300 employees gave me a wealth of experience in a variety of HR functions including payroll and benefits administration, employee relations, performance management, leave management, recruitment and retention, and contract and policy writing.
I continue my passion for professional development and personal growth through mentorship, ongoing education and training, and volunteer work with CPHR BC & Yukon as well as a local non-profit.
When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time outdoors hiking and golfing, practicing yoga, reading a good book, researching and enjoying food and wine, and spending quality time with friends and family.
