Guided by her experience and strong process orientation, Lynn has rolled up her sleeves multiple times to establish the HR foundation for an organization. She’s resourceful, with a strong knowledge of people operations, policy, navigating difficult conversations, performance management, employment standards, mitigating risk and employment law.
Observant and intuitive, Lynn asks key questions and listens deeply, quickly discerning an organization’s culture, and that of its leaders and its team. Lynn understands the value of clear communication and honest conversations, steering through tough issues with compassion and putting systems into place that help organizations embed a philosophy informed by kindness.
I’m passionate about helping organizations develop effective leadership, and seeing teams be able to translate their org’s values into lived experiences. Those are the keystones of a great culture.
Lynn started out in banking, but soon realized she loved the people side of business. She pivoted, returning to school to study HR and labour relations at BCIT. Her first role in HR was in Learning & Development as a trainer of leadership, employment equity and recruitment, while still in the banking industry. Over the next 25 years, Lynn worked her way through a variety of HR roles as both employee and consultant, honing her skills across industry, professional services and the not-for-profit sector. She studied strategic leadership at UBC, holds her CPHR designation and has multiple certifications in psychometric assessments.
Outside of a career that she loves, Lynn is passionate about and just might have a second career as a chef or food scientist. She loves to cook and bake and even though her children are grown, they still return to family for home-cooked meals multiple times per week! She is a lover of the outdoors, embracing the wild beauty of the trails around North Vancouver and exploring our beautiful province with her partner and children.
