People & Culture Partner

Brittany helps leaders improve their organizations by working with them to clearly chart a path toward where they want to go. With an air of warm confidence, she provides a wide spectrum of on-demand HR services for our clients, walking them through how to best address their urgent human resources needs. Brittany also provides managed HR services, offering professional, collaborative day-to-day HR operational support that’s integrated into the business and team.

Brittany’s exceptional time-management skills enable her to serve multiple clients in an atmosphere of clarity, where everyone feels looked after and knows what to expect. She is known for keeping calm even when things are chaotic or not going as planned—skills she no doubt earned from her years working in hospitality! Brittany loves putting people at ease, and is quick to use humour to dispel the myth that HR professionals “only show up when you’re in trouble.” She typically works with small-to medium-sized private and not-for-profit organizations, helping to set or rebuild their HR foundation by creating handbooks and establishing ESA compliance. Brittany also leads compensation studies and 360 reviews, and coaches managers on how to conduct performance management with their employees.

Kind and collaborative, Brittany works diligently to craft individualized solutions for our clients so that we leave them in a better place than when they first come through our door. She’s passionate about fair and equitable decision-making, and is always attentive to how a given decision might impact other team members, asking: “What standard are we setting with this decision?”

I’ve always loved the camaraderie that accompanies working with a really solid team. HR lets me study the way teams work together. It highlights the key factor that sets the high-functioning teams apart from the less-than-functional teams. That key factor is the unique individuals on those teams. There is no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to people, which keeps things interesting and fresh in a career like HR.

Brittany holds her CPHR, Bachelor of Business Administration in human resources and leadership, and is a licensed Human Element practitioner. Before she joined Engaged in 2022, Brittany worked for seven years in HR in the hospitality and food manufacturing sectors.

Brittany loves nutrition and cooking videos, and finds herself frequently inspired to try new recipes. She periodically volunteers with Big Brothers, Big Sisters, and dreams of creating a podcast to showcase her brilliantly funny sister’s personality.
