Elizabeth Thompson

Talent Acquisition Specialist

Elizabeth is a talent acquisition professional with nearly a decade of experience helping organizations attract, assess, and retain exceptional talent. Her expertise spans full-cycle recruitment, executive search, workforce planning, and talent strategy, with a particular focus on supporting nonprofit organizations, growth-stage companies, and organizations navigating periods of transformation.

Throughout her career, Elizabeth has partnered with leaders to build high-performing teams and develop recruitment strategies that align talent needs with organizational goals. Her experience includes leading recruitment initiatives across a wide range of functions and levels, from specialized technical roles to senior leadership and executive appointments.

Elizabeth’s career path into recruitment began after working in pharmaceutical regulatory affairs. An opportunity to support a rapidly growing technology company introduced her to talent acquisition during a pivotal period of organizational scaling. What began as an unexpected responsibility quickly evolved into a long-term career focused on helping organizations grow and helping individuals find meaningful opportunities where they can succeed and contribute.

Known for her thoughtful and strategic approach, Elizabeth combines strong relationship-building skills with a deep understanding of organizational needs. She is particularly interested in the intersection of people, strategy, and organizational growth, and enjoys partnering with clients to solve complex talent challenges.

Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in History and is currently pursuing coursework toward the Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation. She is committed to continuous learning and professional development, regularly expanding her knowledge of emerging recruitment practices, talent trends, and workforce strategies.

Her philosophy is grounded in the belief that work plays an important role in personal and professional growth. She recognizes that careers are often closely connected to an individual’s sense of purpose, contribution, and identity, and approaches recruitment with the understanding that the right opportunity can have a meaningful impact on both organizations and the people who work within them.

people before process

One principle guides much of Elizabeth’s work: people before process. While processes and systems are important, she believes the strongest organizations are built by creating environments where people can thrive, contribute, and achieve sustainable success.

Outside of work, Elizabeth has a long-standing interest in history and enjoys following archaeological discoveries and research that shed new light on the past. She is also an enthusiastic observer of the Canadian real estate market and can often be found exploring property listings and market trends in her spare time.

Elizabeth brings a combination of strategic thinking, curiosity, and a genuine commitment to helping people succeed, enabling her to build meaningful partnerships with clients and candidates alike.
