Miranda Logan-WebbContinuous learning, solutions-focused collaboration, and authentic connection is what it’s all about! After graduating from the University of British Columbia with a BA in English and Ethics, I explored a few different careers working in non-profit programming, in hospitality, in youth care work, and in landscape design. The learner in me loved acquiring and honing new skills in each of these roles, but none of these jobs felt like a forever choice.

Fast forward to 2013, where reflecting on the diversity of my professional experiences led me to my personal “Aha!” moment during a conversation with my mentor. I realized that my favourite part of all those jobs was the same – the people part. I was excited and driven by the process of identifying and resolving the people-based pain points I had encountered in each industry I’d worked in. Helping support and develop aligned and mutually fulfilling employer-employee relationships had been an organic focus in each of my professional roles. A career in HR seemed a natural fit!

I first joined Engaged HR team in 2015, after completing an Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Management. Since then, I have been lucky to enjoy constant opportunities to collaborate with and learn from incredible colleagues, employers, and community leaders while always looking for creative ways to expand my HR toolbox. After a year off spent “on hiatus” expanding my professional toolbox further through travel and formal studies, I returned home to the Engaged HR team in 2020, refreshed and excited to share those new learnings in my work.

When I’m not working, I can be found practicing yoga, meditating, running, folding origami, perfecting latte art techniques, or spending time with my 13 nieces and nephews.
