Denise Lloyd, FCPHR

CEO Denise Lloyd founded Engaged in 2011, and over the years has grown the company with the heart (and courage!) of an entrepreneur. She is a mentor to our team of HR, talent, learning, and management professionals and brings our organizational values to life daily. A true visionary in the field of human resources, Denise leads the way with innovative thinking that challenges the old paradigm, helping our team create new services that are truly aligned with the cultures and aspirations of today’s organizations.

In 2016, she introduced Disrupt HR to Victoria—a global information exchange designed to energize, inform, and empower people in the HR field and took the stage as DisruptHR Victoria’s very first speaker. Today, Disrupt HR Victoria has grown to be the most successful Disrupt event globally.

Denise has earned an impeccable reputation for her business acumen and delivering thought leadership in HR.  CEOs and leaders from across Canada rely on her expertise, vision, and ability to integrate the unique perspectives of employers and employees alike to bring about positive workplace transformation.

Raised in a family where one parent was an entrepreneur and the other an HR professional, Denise was naturally inclined to establish her own HR firm. Her formative experiences in the nonprofit sector honed her ability to innovate high-value, cost-effective, and inventive solutions. Her time in the private sector revealed the significance of strategic and tactical financial investments to achieve meaningful progress. By merging these experiences in her own venture, Denise has successfully crafted a strategic, value-driven, and impactful HR consulting firm like no other.

Denise holds a Master of Arts in Leadership and is a Fellow of the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (FCPHR), a prestigious award that recognizes her exemplary contributions to the profession over her 30 years of practice. A certified Psychological Health and Safety Advisor, she makes it easy for organizations to adopt robust frameworks designed to create happy, high-retention workplaces.

Denise has loved watching her niece and nephew grow up over these last 20 years and finds it inspiring to spend time with them as adults. Having grown up in Winnipeg and spending her summers in the Manitoba lake country, she is an avid swimmer, and also loves travelling. Denise believes the best friendships are those that dive into deep conversations paired with a glass of excellent red wine.
